Abstract

Academic literature available in large scale online databases presents both opportunities as well as challenges to modern researchers. In this scenario, we are developing a software with name ResearchRover that would provide a platform to researchers for automated literature review of these large scale online articles using advancement in AI/ML. At present this software is available in the form of a prototype. It allows researchers to search and download articles on a specific topic of interest and create a local database of the articles and associated metadata. Based on the local database content, the platform provides integrated search, and metadata aggregation utilities. The ResearchRover program is available in GitHub portal at https://github.com/Poly-777/Research_Rover along with associated documents for researchers. This automated platform for research literature review process will help in bridge the gap in research comprehension and analysis, offering a solution that moves beyond traditional scholarly search capabilities. The system architecture and detailed algorithms of the ResearchRover software are available elsewhere whereas key features are presented to have a scoping view on the current research scenario on smart healthcare software development process in this article. Large language model-based research trend analysis of the article metadata revealed growth, success stories and challenges in healthcare software industry across the globe.
